Forest fires are becoming increasingly devastating. They are amplified by an increasingly hot and dry climate, a direct consequence of ongoing climate change.

A single lightning strike, an unextinguished barbecue fire, or even a cigarette butt can unleash uncontrollable flames when combined with winds.

It is not just an environmental issue, but also a serious problem for the global climate. Uncontrolled forest fires are responsible for 20% of global annual greenhouse gas emissions, equivalent to the total emissions of the entire European Union in one year! If we do not address this emergency promptly, millions of tons of CO2 will be released, further exacerbating climate change.
